D is for Dresses

These are some of my dresses from when I was a young girl. I keep saving them to perhaps put on my own little girl. And if that doesn't happen, I think they would look really great hung on the wall of my future studio, like this. All of them were handmade for me, I'm assuming by my mom, but some could have been made by my grandma. I love how very 1970s they are - bright colors and lots of polyester fabrics. And even if no one ever wears them again or they don't get displayed, I keep them to remind me of who I am.

Those dresses are great! My mom used to make almost all of our clothes when we were kids. It's really nice that you have some of your old dresses. I like the displaying idea if it turned out you don't have a daughter of your own.

So sweet, what a treasure!

Oh, displaying them would be cool. It would also be neat if you had pics of yourself in them somewhere else in the studio.

So cute! I love the brown with the pink rick rack.

Those are awesome! They'd totally be fun to hang like at Soulemama (that is a sweet studio).

Hi Sweetie ... this post brought back lots of memories ... I think I made you the little yellow dress for my brother's wedding (oh so many years ago)... and tonight I'm going to his son's wedding ... I think Grandma made you the cute brown w/rick rack dress ... I think she made all of her grandaughters one of Christmas that year ... see what I mean about memories!

Love you ... Mom

Wow I can't believe you still have clothes from when you were a kid! SAVE THEM! I don't have anything.. I think.. got rid of most of them.
But thanks for your feedback :) I searched up other types of felt items and they sell for $5 or more... I figured $5 just to get started, but none have sold yet. hehe.

Those are just too sweet! Keep them forever. Even if you don't ever have a daughter, one of your son's wives will want them. I know I would! What a great treasure!!!

I think it's so neat that your mom saved those dresses! My mom didn't save any of mine and it would be fun to have a few of them especially since my girls room is done in a doll dresses theme.
